The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) has launched a beginner Russian language course. The one month course has been launched in collaboration with the Ural State Pedagogical University.

Launch of the Russian language course
An orientation session for the Russian language class was held on Thursday, September 17. Mr. Dolgov Anton, Vice Dean of Ural State Pedagogical University, attended the orientation and also conducted the first class.

Speaking at the orientation session, Deputy Director ORIC, FUUAST, Dr Faisal Javaid thanked the Russian government and Ural State Pedagogical University for providing students of the Federal Urdu University an opportunity to learn the Russian language. He said students from all disciplines, including social sciences and natural sciences should learn languages other than Urdu and English.
Academic ties between FUUAST and Russian universities
Dr Javaid said FUUAST has already been working with Russian universities on research projects and seminars. Now the Russian language course will further strengthen these academic ties.

Mr. Anton said Ural State Pedagogical University is starting Russian language teaching programmes in different countries, including Indonesia and Pakistan.
