Chinese downwear brand Bosideng has celebrated its 50th anniversary with “The Bloom”, a show staged in Paris that marked the brand’s first appearance on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar.

The show took place on 5 October 2026 at the Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo, the former Paris residence of Karl Lagerfeld, following earlier presentations in New York, Milan and London.

From function to fashion

Designed by Creative Director Pietro Ferragina, the Spring/Summer 2027 collection moves the down jacket beyond its functional roots and firmly into fashion, bringing a distinctly Chinese aesthetic to an international audience.

Art Deco geometry met Chinese craftsmanship in the silhouettes. Haipai qipao-inspired tailoring — the Shanghai-style fitted dress with a mandarin collar — and Song brocade, a figured silk from Suzhou dating back to the Song dynasty, were woven into the designs. Song brocade and silk, finished with feathers, were set against geometric volumes and quilted relief.

Four lines, one finale

Four lines explored different expressions of modern winterwear: Extreme Cold, Outdoor, Business and Puff — from sculptural evening silhouettes to technical outerwear and refined city dressing. A finale of pink down evening looks offered a softer, unexpected interpretation of the material.

For Gao Dekang, Founder, Chairman and President of Bosideng Group, the Paris presentation reflected five decades of expertise and a commitment to fashion and cultural exchange between China and France.

A milestone evening

Group Vice President Jet Gao attended alongside international supermodel Coco Rocha and guests from the worlds of fashion, culture and the arts, including actresses Mao Xiaotong, Michelle Chen and Ouyang Didi, and actor Chen Tianxiang.

An accompanying anniversary exhibition traced the brand’s design evolution, highlighting collaborations with Jean Paul Gaultier, Kenzo Takada and MSGM alongside signature downwear innovations. Celebrations continued at the Eiffel Tower with “The Next Great Chapter”, Bosideng’s 50th Anniversary International Gala.

FAKTA

  • Bosideng presented “The Bloom” on 5 October 2026 at the Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo in Paris.
  • It was the brand’s first appearance on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar.
  • The show marked Bosideng’s 50th anniversary.
  • Creative Director Pietro Ferragina designed the Spring/Summer 2027 collection.
  • Four lines were shown: Extreme Cold, Outdoor, Business and Puff.

Conclusion

With “The Bloom”, Bosideng used its half-century milestone to argue that the down jacket belongs on the runway as much as on the mountain — and that Chinese craft has a confident place at the centre of Paris fashion.
