Copenhagen fashion house GANNI and Canadian performance brand lululemon have turned the dance studio into the season’s most joyful fashion statement. Their 22-piece collaboration, launched on 15 October 2026, pairs lululemon’s technical fabrics with GANNI’s leopard print, ruffle trims and bold colour combinations, inspired by 1980s dance films.

The collection, campaigned under the slogan “JOY IS A POWER MOVE”, stars actor Jennifer Beals alongside singer and dancer METTE in a short film shot in a dance studio, blurring the line between rehearsal and performance. It is available online and in select stores across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, with prices reported from about 70 to 280 dollars.

FAKTA

  • The GANNI x lululemon collection is a 22-piece womenswear, accessories and footwear collaboration.
  • It launched globally on 15 October 2026, online and in select lululemon and GANNI stores.
  • Signature pieces include a reworked lululemon Define Jacket, leopard print, ruffle trims, leg warmers, boleros and headbands.
  • Fabrics include lululemon’s Nulu and Softstreme, designed for comfort, breathability and freedom of movement.
  • The “JOY IS A POWER MOVE” campaign stars Jennifer Beals and singer and dancer METTE.
  • Reported prices range from about 70 to 280 dollars, including a ruffle-trim midi dress at 280 dollars and a leopard Define ruffle-trim jacket at 180 dollars.

GANNI lululemon dance collection: studio dressing, reimagined

The headline piece is a reworked version of lululemon’s Define Jacket, a long-running favourite reinterpreted through GANNI’s design lens. Around it sit the pieces that make the dance reference unmistakable: leg warmers, boleros and headbands, alongside leopard tanks, ruffle-trim leggings and a brushed Softstreme pullover.

GANNI creative director Ditte Reffstrup said 1980s dance films have been part of her life since childhood, and felt like a natural starting point. “I’ve always been drawn to the energy, determination and sense of freedom in those films, and the way dance becomes such a powerful form of self-expression,” she said.

How to wear it beyond the studio

The collection is designed to move between a workout and everyday life. A leopard jacket or ruffle-trim legging can anchor an otherwise simple outfit, while a bolero adds theatre over a plain base layer. The accessories make it easy to adopt the collaboration in small doses, without committing to the full rehearsal-studio look.

Key pieces to know

Start with the reworked Define Jacket, add the ruffle-trim midi dress for occasion dressing, and finish with leg warmers or a headband for the most direct dance reference. Shoppers have reported fast-selling sizes, with many items low in stock or sold out in the first week.

Why the pairing works

lululemon supplies technical credibility and familiar silhouettes, while GANNI supplies personality: expressive prints, playful details and a distinctly Copenhagen sensibility. Together they test demand for a more expressive kind of athleisure, where performance wear is also a fashion statement.

Conclusion

The GANNI x lululemon collection succeeds because it takes movement seriously and joy even more seriously. It is gym kit you would happily wear to brunch, with frills, leopard print and a dance-studio spirit that makes getting dressed feel like a performance in the best sense.
