At least three Palestinians were killed and several others were wounded in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Monday, health officials and medics said, in the latest bloodshed to test a ceasefire that has held only in name for more than a year. Two people died in separate strikes in Khan Younis in the south of the territory, while a third person was killed in an attack on the town of Al-Mussadar.

Medics said six people were also wounded in the two Khan Younis strikes, and emergency teams rushed the injured to hospital for treatment. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the reported attacks. The deaths add to a toll that Gaza health officials say has passed 1,580 people killed since the ceasefire came into effect, while Israel says four of its soldiers have died in the same period.

FAKTA

  • Three Palestinians killed on Monday, 2 November 2026: two in Khan Younis and one in Al-Mussadar.
  • Six people wounded in the two Khan Younis strikes, according to medics.
  • At least 1,580 Palestinians killed since the ceasefire began, Gaza health officials say.
  • More than 74,000 Palestinians killed since the war began in October 2023, according to Palestinian authorities.
  • Israeli forces control about two-thirds of Gaza; more than two million Palestinians are concentrated in the remaining third.

Gaza Strikes Test the Ceasefire

Israel has stepped up its strikes on Gaza in recent weeks, saying Hamas has been rebuilding its military strength and preparing attacks in breach of the truce. Hamas has rejected those claims, denying that it has tried to launch attacks or rebuild its weapons stockpile, and accuses Israel of undermining the peace deal.

The ceasefire, brokered by the United States last year, was meant to open the way to the eventual reconstruction of Gaza. Instead, negotiations have barely moved. The two sides remain far apart on the central questions of the deal: the disarmament of Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory.

Families Caught Between Ruins and Stalled Talks

For the civilians living through the continuing strikes, the political deadlock has a daily human cost. Israeli forces control around two-thirds of Gaza and have ordered residents out of those areas, leaving more than two million Palestinians crowded into the remaining third of the strip.

Many families are still living among destroyed buildings, in makeshift tents and damaged homes, with widespread war damage all around them. With reconstruction stalled and the ceasefire fraying, there is little sign of relief for people who have already endured more than three years of war.
