What happened

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. on Saturday near Perry and Manatee streets, close to Bragg Memorial Stadium, as crowds were leaving the stadium after the homecoming football game, in which the Rattlers lost to Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell confirmed the casualty figures at a late-night press conference.

Florida A&M University issued a safety alert at 8:40 p.m., telling people near Bragg Stadium and Perry Street to avoid the area or shelter in place. Police later said the scene was secure by 9:45 p.m., and the university said the campus remains safe.

Police: isolated altercation, suspects sought

Police said preliminary information indicates an altercation occurred between individuals before the shooting. “We do not know exactly what happened. What we do believe is that this was an isolated incident between two or three individuals,” Chief Revell said. “I stand before you devastated,” he added.

No arrests have been made, and police are searching for suspects. The exact circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, and authorities have not said whether any of the victims are students.

Investigation continues

Police have urged the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues. The figures reported here are the latest confirmed by Tallahassee police, and the story is still developing.
