The Global Sustainability Forum 2026, set for 24–27 October in Tunis, Tunisia, will bring the curtain down on this year’s Global Sustainability Ambassadors programme, with participants from more than 40 countries set to receive their certificates as certified “Global Sustainability Ambassadors”, according to an announcement by the organiser, Global Goals Connections (GGC).

Final review session on 10 October

Before the forum, the ambassadors will gather online for the programme’s fourth and final review session on 10 October at 15:00 British Time, led by trainers Ada Schmidtkunz and Helen Sarbah. The sessions are designed to help the ambassadors reflect on the knowledge, experience and progress gained throughout the programme — and to prepare for its final phase.

A multicultural network launched in March

The GGC Ambassadors 2026 programme was launched in March 2026 with the aim of building a multicultural network of sustainability advocates able to turn the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals from global commitments into locally relevant initiatives, SustainVerse reports. Organisers say the journey of the ambassadors does not end online: the Tunis forum will turn the training into an in-person experience, giving participants the chance to deepen their learning, take part in new discussions and convert their knowledge into meaningful connections and action.

What the Global Sustainability Forum 2026 will cover

The forum is designed as a platform for international dialogue, recognition and collaboration. Its agenda includes climate change, responsible economic growth, social inclusion, ethical leadership, innovation and cross-border partnerships. Participation is expected to represent more than 40 nationalities, with a strong presence from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The event is organised by Global Goals Connections together with the World Book of Records London and the RELTTAW Association. A strategic partnership with Global Ethix Canada and Global Ethix International is expected to widen the forum’s institutional reach and to recognise leadership in sustainability, education, innovation and social impact.

Tunis at the crossroads

The choice of Tunis places the forum at the meeting point of Africa, the Mediterranean and the Arab world — a location organisers say will enable wider South–South and North–South conversations on climate resilience, development priorities, entrepreneurship, education and inclusive growth.

SustainVerse, the forum’s official media partner, will provide editorial coverage from the venue, with its Editor-in-Chief, Prof Ujjwal Anu Chowdhury, attending the gathering and interviewing policymakers, practitioners, innovators and academics.

Conclusion

As the ambassadors prepare for their final review session and the journey to Tunis, the programme’s message is summed up in the organiser’s own words: “Together, let’s build a better, greener tomorrow.” Watan News covers climate and sustainability developments on our climate desk page.
